D23 is a bi-annual event for the Disney Community, providing an insight into the inner-workings of The Walt Disney Company.

This year, the focus for most of the attendees were spread between the announcements popular Parks and Resorts.

With HowToMCO being focused on the trip planning aspects, we’re going to bring you the reasons why the announcements are going to be exciting for all of the guests visiting the parks in the future!

Let’s look at the announcements from the Parks and Resorts panel:

Mission: Space

This attraction will be re-opening with a NEW adventure for the Green Side with an orbit around the earth. Industrial Light and Magic is joining forces with Walt Disney Imagineering for this revamp in Future World.

Also announced, there will be a brand new Table-Service restaurant adjacent to Mission: Space which allows guests to have a fully-immersive environment as their backdrop to a stellar meal.

Star Wars – Galaxy’s Edge

The new Star Wars land will be called “Star Wars – Galaxy’s Edge” – but we’ll still just call it Star Wars! For more details on this land that is coming to both Disneyland and Disney World read Star Wars Land Opening 2019 at Disney Parks!

Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway

This has been announced as the first official attraction for Mickey Mouse in Disney’s history. While the location wasn’t officially announced, we are assuming based on the description that this family-friendly adventure will be taking over for the Great Movie Ride at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Ratatouille

Ratatouille, the trackless 4D attraction direct from Disneyland Paris will be constructed in a new plot of land in the France Pavilion at EPCOT. The dark-ride will be identical, where guests will wear 3D glasses as they become the size of Remy!

Tron Light Cycle Coaster

The Tron Light Cycle Coaster is coming to Tomorrowland direct from Shanghai Disney! In fact, it’ll be taking the space that the Tomorrowland Speedway currently occupies, which is such a huge parcel of land! Look for this to be a huge undertaking in the busiest theme park in the world!

Epcot’s China Pavilion

The China Pavilion at EPCOT’s World Showcase will be getting a digitally enhanced movie! For the first time in forever, the “Circle Vision 360” technology from the original shows (Canada, China, and France) will be updated into a 360 DIGITAL no-seemed. Think of it like your Facebook friend’s who have 360 cameras…but on a whole new level.

Guardians of the Galaxy

Guardians of the Galaxy will be making their entrance into Future World when they take over for Ellen’s Energy Adventure. The concept art looks amazing for this, so we can’t wait to see how the comedic elements of the Guardians will bring EPCOT into their world (and visa versa).

Kansas City Willis Theatre

A new theatre, inspired by the Kansas City Willis Theatre will be making its debut on Main Street USA. Very few details were announced as to the end goal of what will be performed at this location, but this is a great opportunity for world-class entertainment in the Magic Kingdom!

Excited to share details as they emerge! Keep checking up with the HowToMCO.com socials and website!
