When you look at the entertainment offerings at the big two theme parks, you’re usually putting Cirque du Soleil at Disney Springs up against the Blue Man Group at Universal City Walk. Well, it looks like things are going to be a little more blue under the big top!
As the New York Times reported (article here), the growth potential of each group is now being pooled together in order to expand and enter new markets overseas, such as China.
According to the article, “The Blue Man Group will keep its autonomy, “said Daniel Lamarre, Cirque’s chief executive. “We’re not going to mix the Cirque du Soleil brand with the brand of the Blue Man Group.”
What does this mean for the stateside parks, like the soon-to-be evolving Cirque du Soleil show at Disney Springs? Well let’s start the rumor mill and see if things will stay in the status quo with a new “Cirque” show going into Disney Springs when the existing show ends December 31st, 2017, or if there will be something new that we would have never expected. Time will tell!
In the meantime, if you wanted to check out Cirque Du Soleil – La Nouba before it goes away at the end of the year, click here for the official Disney page.
